Northern Games & Dene Games Instructor Training

The Aboriginal Sports Circle NWT (ASCNWT) is currently accepting applications for the upcoming Northern and Dene Games Instructor Training in Inuvik from April 17-21, 2023. Interested applicants should have a passion for the traditional sport or show interest in starting their own programming in their community, and a resident of the Northwest Territories.

This workshop will be taught by elders and facilitators Donald Kuptana & Colinda Blondin. They will go in depth about the history of Northern and Dene Games, teach proper technique for competition, give advice on facilitating and share valuable knowledge for your own programming in your community. All of those who attend will be given the opportunity to partner with ASCNWT as an official or instructor at our events and programming. Together we would like to build capacity in Northern and Dene Games and pass on the importance of the traditional survival games.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2023.

You can go to www.ascnwt.ca/NGDGTraining to fill out an application.
