Newest Member of our Team

We would like to welcome the newest member of our team - Cheyenne Lafferty!

Cheyenne recently graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus in Camrose, Alberta. This year she will be busy with the role of assistant coach for 14U girls volleyball in Yellowknife. When she is not in the gym coaching, you can find her at the gym working out, or at home working on her new-found hobby: beading.

ASCNWT is excited to be offering internships to recent graduates and Cheyenne is lucky enough to be our first Intern! Her main focus will be on developing an Indigenous coaching program and partnering with TSO’s to provide sport specific training and mentorship opportunities. She will also be heavily involved in preparing Team NT to attend the 2020 North American Indigenous Games, along with assisting on other ASCNWT programs. You can reach Cheyenne at cheyenne@ascnwt.ca or 867-669-8337.

Feel free to stop by an introduce yourself to Cheyenne!

ABOUT THE ABORIGINAL SPORTS CIRCLE WORKING IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Established in 1999, ASCNWT was created through a national consensus-building process in response to the need for more accessible and equitable sport and recreation opportunities for Aboriginal peoples across the Northwest Territories.

We believe that all Aboriginal people in the NWT should have the opportunity to participate in sport and recreational activities at a level of involvement they find meaningful and valuable.
