2023 ASCNWT Award Nominations

Nominations for our 2023 ASCNWT Awards are now open.

The purpose of the ASCNWT Award program is to recognize and give credit to exceptional community members in the NWT. Those individuals who have continually shown dedication and hard work and have made significant contributions will be honored for the positive difference they are making in their respective communities.  

A yearly Award Dinner is being held to celebrate a person’s involvement in:

  • Sport*:  

    This award is presented to an individual who has excelled in their respective sport at various levels of competition. This individual has displayed commitment and dedication to training and competition.

  • Coaching*:

    This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated the success and dedication necessary in the development of their athletes and program at any level of competition in the NWT. 

  • Language and Culture*:

    This award is presented to an individual or group who best demonstrates their commitment to displaying and practicing their culture at any event on any level related to the North’s History of Dene, Métis, or Inuvialuit culture. 

  • Community Building*:

    This award is presented to an individual who has contributed a great amount of time and energy into their community to assist the coaches, athletes and others in any sport and recreational event.

*Nominees for these awards must be Indigenous to be eligible.

Nominations for the 2023 ASCNWT Awards will be accepted till October 22nd, 2023!

The Aboriginal Sports Circle NWT empowers and builds capacity within NWT communities, promotes and supports culturally relevant programming, and develops athletes and coaches in a level of involvement they find meaningful. We focus on developing programs based on community interests, strengths, and desires and strive to help communities build capacity in activities that they find beneficial.
